Go behind the scenes of Remesh Video, a new capability that brings live video interviews directly into the Remesh platform and combines the depth of face-to-face interviews with the scale of a Remesh conversation.

In a recent Remesh Deep Dive Webinar, Senior Manager of Customer Experience Shay Myrick and fellow CX leader Maria Nar took us behind the scenes of Remesh Video, which is a new capability that brings live video interviews directly into the Remesh platform.

The goal? To combine the depth of face-to-face interviews with the scale and structure of Remesh’s core conversation tools. Whether you’re running standalone interviews or following up with standout participants in real time, Remesh Video creates a bridge between qualitative texture and systematic insight. In this video blog, we’ll walk through highlights from the session, explore practical use cases, and explain how researchers are already putting this to work.

Why Remesh Video?

As Maria explained, Remesh Video offers three distinct modes of use:

  • Standalone Video Conversations: Ideal when you want pre- and post-interview questions around a recorded interview session.
  • Live to Video: Transition seamlessly from a live Remesh session into one-on-one video interviews with selected participants—without switching tools or tabs.
  • Flex to Video (indirect method): While not currently integrated, you can recruit based on Flex responses and invite participants to a new video conversation.

This flexibility allows teams to shape their research strategy around the depth they need, whether they’re exploring new ideas, validating a concept, or surfacing unexpected voices.

How It Works: From Setup to Analysis

Maria walked through a live demo of the platform—from programming your discussion guide to inviting participants on the fly. Here's what stood out:

  • In-Session Targeting: While moderating a live conversation, researchers can tag responses that spark curiosity. Participants can be selected for follow-up interviews either during or after the session.
  • Integrated Scheduling: The platform allows for pre-scheduled interviews with participants selected on-the-fly. Add follow-up segments in the scheduling panel and set up your invites with a few clicks.
  • Video Space Tools: During interviews, researchers can screen share, chat, mute, or remove participants (mirroring traditional conferencing tools) all without leaving the Remesh platform.
  • LLM-Driven Analysis: When enabled, Remesh’s AI features surface themes, generate summaries, and extract clips—all from the post-conversation analysis space. Without LLMs, you still retain transcripts, search, tagging, and downloads.

Maria emphasized the release of in-platform respondent targeting, which is available now, and allows for a simple experience when selecting participants for your follow up research.

Use Cases Across Research Functions

Shay outlined how Remesh Video opens new doors in both employee experience (EX) and market research (MR):

For Employee Experience:

  • Onboarding interviews
  • Exit interviews with emotional tone
  • Upward feedback on managers or change initiatives
  • Moments-that-matter storytelling from real employees

For Market Research:

  • Rapid concept and messaging testing with real-time reactions
  • Innovation workshops and co-creation sessions
  • Trend forecasting through visual storytelling
  • Persona building with video clips

Researchers gain the emotional clarity of video without losing the speed, scale, and consistency of Remesh’s Live or Flex format.

Practical Questions Answered

The Q&A segment addressed key operational details:

  • Privacy: Video inherently reveals participant identity, but PII is still protected. Participation is always opt-in.
  • Recruitment: While Remesh Recruit is not yet integrated with video, participant upload enables a smooth invite process using your own sample.
  • Group Size: Each video conversation can include up to 10 interviews, with 1–25 participants each.
  • Analysis Access: Users can export clips, transcripts, and summaries. LLM-based features (themes/summaries) require admin activation.
  • Timing: Live-to-video transitions should happen during or immediately after the session. For longer delays, use standalone video and manage recruitment manually.
